I'm not sure if I've had writer's block lately or if there is just nothing interesting going on in my life. Its probably the latter…

Caitlin's newest interest is running around the house with underwear on her head. I'm not sure where she learned this. Or why she finds it so fascinating… but she does. She just stretches them on, with her face peering out of a leg hole and giggles and giggles. I really can't be serious when she does this because her laugh is so infectious.

Gracie had her surgeries – spay and declaw – last week and has been recuperating. She's doing great. A day after we brought her home, she was jumping on top of the refrigerator. She didn't want to come down, of course. She was pretty gimpy for several days. Just now, at a week out of surgery, she is starting to walk without a noticeable limp. I am happy to see that because the limp was giving me major guilt. I keep telling myself that we had to do it because she was ripping everything – including me and the kids – to shreads. She is also getting her spunk and attitude back.

Our high temp today was 70… in January. So, of course, we have a tornado warning because 70 degrees in January is never a good thing. I'm hoping that I can make it home tonight without being swept off to munchkin land. Wish me luck.

She lives!!!!

OK, I know, I know... its been a long time. 2012 came and went. And it FLEW. Here's what's been going on with my little brood...

Kiera started the third grade. I know! THIRD grade. Wow. She is doing great and loves school. She is a second year brownie girl scout and will become a junior scout this spring.

Caitlin is 4 1/2. I know! Almost 5! She still goes to preschool full-time. She is still quite ornery. She started speech therapy through our public school district in December 2012 (after a long process to get her accepted).

We bought a house in August 2012! We now live in the same neighborhood as my parents, which makes life much more convenient. The girls love the new house and having their own space. I love it too, though I had forgotten how being a home owner basically just sucks money right out of your wallet.

We added a new family member in September 2012... a kitten named Gracie. The girls LOVE this cat. Hubby got her from the humane society and he picked her because she was chilling out in the back of the cage and he thought that meant she was mellow. He could not have been more wrong. This cat is like the tasmanian devil on crack.

I probably fell off the blogosphere because I got really busy. My work hours suck and my kids are demanding when it comes to my "free time." I miss it here. I would like to promise that I will be back on a regular basis but I'm not that stupid. And neither are you :) I am going to try, though. I miss writing and this is my way of getting back to it.

So, happy new year! Let's hope 2013 is a great one!
